Griffin went from this deep dark “I don’t want my picture taken” place to …….

this happier “I guess I’ll smile because she bribed me with Cheeto’s” place to …….

here!
We hit the jackpot because of one word – “cheeto”. The cheese flavored snacks made with real cheese and msg. Sometimes I land on the jackpot making animal noises. Sometimes I have to sing the theme to Elmo at the top of my lungs in a quiet reverent park. Whatever it takes. Today it was the word cheeto – no complaints there!

Loved this family. Loved the nicknames flying around. Loved their home (my husband and I could move in and not change a thing, lol). Loved their humor. Loved that Ron said these were his “before” shots and the next ones would be his “after”. Loved that they requested a picture of just themselves. Loved the background music. Loved the conversation – always a nice break for me. Loved observing Laurie’s wisdom and patience. I didn’t have what she has until I had my third child. Great family.

My favorite of Luca aka Nugget looking at his Daddy.

My favorite of Elliana. Funny story: when I leaned over to pick her up I thought that a heart gummy had accidentally dropped off of me onto her – because nothing dropping off of me would surprise me, lol. Can I just tell you how relieved I was to find out that it was her cute little heart shaped birthmark? Whew! I wouldn’t have known how to quickly cover that up and keep acting professional – ha!

Someone named Niko was feeling left out.

The title of this shot should be “Laurie’s reality” and the title of the next shot should be …

“buns & guns”
Ron had some huge guns. Laurie and Ron, I had a great time and I’ll be in touch with you soon.

Meet Moose – the chocolate labradoodle that wasn’t supposed to be in the picture for about 2 more years. It’s my mom’s fault. She found him in the paper and then said the magic words, “I would like to buy him for the kids”. Done! We made the one hour drive in the snow to meet my mom at the breeder’s house to get the dog. Ellie, my 8 year old, decided her flu wasn’t over and threw up on the way. Brynn, 5, was whiney and angry because “dogs smell!”. Dane, 2, just kept saying over and over and over, “dog”, “get dog”, “dog” – which reminded Brynn that she was angry. Classic. The breeders were the nicest people. Couldn’t have been a more perfect situation. When we walked in Moose was so chilled out. I knew he was the one – the last thing I needed was more crazy – and he has turned out to be the most perfect dog. He barely chews (except for our WOODWORK!). Doesn’t bark, doesn’t jump and he looks like a muppet doesn’t he?
I have also found out that I LOVE taking pictures of him. It gives me the exact same high as it does photographing kids and families. Just an interesting ditty that I’ve learned about myself this past month – it’s always fun to learn things about yourself when you’re home all day with a 2 year old.
Check back soon – more families to come and I’ll be fixing up my links and making things more interesting and pretty.

Meet the family of my future son-in-law Bayden … he’s the one on his dad’s lap. He has been dating my daughter Ellie since first grade and Lori (Bayden’s mom) and I couldn’t be happier, lol. I want to go rub his soft goat hair head right now. I can’t say enough about this family – they are a gift to know. Lori is the type of person that greets you with a hug and compliments you immediately. I always need a compliment:) She is wise and strong with a little bit of funk. I hope we are intertwined in each other’s lives for a long time because I adore them.

I love how Bayden stuns us and makes us laugh. He can do the splits, straddles and put his feet behind his head. He climbs door frames with his sticky frog feet all.the.time. He can mimic and run EXACTLY like a gorilla – it’s crazy. I think the thing that made Brad and I laugh the hardest though was the night he came over for dinner and his mom sent asparagus with him and he starting eating them as if they were Twizzlers. My kids were left sitting there – mouths wide open – dazed and confused. I really don’t even think they knew what asparagus was which is REALLY sad.

Brenner, Bayden and Benson. Their dad’s name is Bourbon and I think that is plain cool.

I always like to take pics of just the mom and dad because usually the last time they had their picture taken was on their wedding day. Lori probably knitted that scarf herself.
