This is the Richarson posse. Mr. Ted and Miss Judy are our neighbors. Anna (the red head) planned this session as a birthday gift for her momma. How sweet is that? She kept her homecoming (from NYC) and the photo shoot a surprise. I think her and her husband actually walked in the door singing Happy Birthday and Judy had no idea. That ROCKS and my girls had better do that one day for me is all I’m saying.
Brad and I have completely enjoyed getting to know this family. When we first moved in 5 years ago we were scared of Mr. Ted because he loves his lawn. LOVES. His yard has been in the Westerville Home and Garden tour for crying out loud. I feel so sorry for him that he lives by us. There are days that I look out onto our yard and it looks like the Beverly Hillbillies – balls and plastic and shovels and socks strewn everywhere. But I know we’ve grown on him:)
This one is for Mr. Ted……I love the blurred grass and the super blue sky against them.

Check out their beautiful grandaughters. The baby was such a trooper and super smiley and it was cold!
and last but not least did I mention that Anna is a NEW YORK CITY ROCKETTE? So I made her – seriously made her – do some type of dance jump for me. I needed it for my portfolio and inner joy. She satisfied my every need:)

What I didn’t anticipate was her husband jumping like a gazelle out of nowhere (later I find out he was a former high jumper) and her brothers to take the stage and do some tricks of their own. Seriously – look at those kicks! I would have pulled a groin muscle. I love how the brother on the left is approaching the stage – cracks me up.

Seriously – thanks Richardsons:) We adore you, your family, your dogs and your martinis:)
I took pictures of this little love. It was supposed to be his year shot but his mom is a little busy with HER SIX CHILDREN. You heard me SIX – five of which are BOYS. So between her schedule and my schedule it took an extra four months to get him here:) But I’d say he’s pretty darn lucky that he has any pictures at all. Try not to fall into his eyes.
then later on in the day I got to discuss with Jackson (the one pictured above) whether or not humans have white and dark meat like chickens – and if I had to eat a human would I eat the breast:) And if you are wondering if photographers have the best pictures of their children in their homes – these pictures should answer that. I really have a special place in my heart for the one of him in the middle. I should make a huge enlargement of it and hang it above his bed, heehee.
and last but not least I performed an experiment on this child of mine today. I decided i was going to listen to her every word and question. I was not going to be the mmm mmmm mom today – I was going to answer every question and respond to every statement with words instead of sounds. This was an experiment to see if she talked less – and my experiment failed miserably. It only encouraged her to talk more. I wonder if people think I lock her in a cage and neglect her because of how much she talks. When I taught I used to assume my super chatty and clingy students were severely neglected at home. Haa! Joke is so on me. Needless to say this little chatter box is hilarious. HILARIOUS. By far the spark of this family.
There are some pictures that I have taken before I started this blog that are too yummy not to post. The Switzer family is one of them. I adore this family. Good people, good parents, easy going, interesting…..put it this way, if we were neighbors they would be seeing a lot of me:) This session focused mostly on Leo (the baby) because he turned a big 3 months old. Look at how scrumptious he is …..
He was making those gurgling little baby noises that make me temporarily go insane and want another. If only babies didn’t turn 2.

The whole clan.
Oops, I almost forgot – one more…..
Happy Easter!
We had a nice, sunny and chilly weekend. Jackson is old enough to know there isn’t a big bunny hopping around depositing eggs the night before, but isn’t old enough to remember to play along in front of his sister. We missed Ellie. Dane ate the contents of his ENTIRE basket before we were aware of what had happened. It is amazing that he didn’t go into some type of candy induced coma. Amazing.
